IT IS ALL ABOUT THE WORDS…

This delicious morning mocktail — Mary Mock — is made like its alcoholic counterpart, just leave out the strong spirits.

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups high-quality tomato juice (low sodium and organic preferred).
  • ⅓ cup olive juice or dill pickle juice.
  • 2 tablespoons prepared horseradish, adjusted to your spice preference.
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (use vegan Worcestershire sauce for a vegan version).
  • 2 teaspoons green hot sauce (such as green Tabasco or Cholula).
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice.
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper.
  • 1 teaspoon celery salt.
  • Ice cubes.
  • Garnishes: Celery stalks, lemon wedges, olives, gherkins.

Instructions

Combine Ingredients: In a pitcher or large container, combine the tomato juice, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, green hot sauce, lemon juice, lime juice, pepper, and celery salt.

Mix Well: Stir all ingredients together thoroughly to combine the flavors.
Chill (Optional): For a more developed flavor, cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least one hour or even overnight to allow the flavors to meld.

Serve: Fill two glasses with ice cubes. Pour the Virgin Mary mixture over the ice in each glass.
Garnish: Garnish each drink with a celery stick, a lemon wedge, and your preferred additions like olives or gherkins.
