Ingredients::
- 6 oz. of Ginger Ale or Diet Ginger Ale, or Lime Flavored Sparkling Water
- 3 oz. of Unsweetened White or Regular Apple Juice
- 1 oz. of Unsweetened or Regular Cherry Juice
- 1 oz. of fresh Lime Juice
- 1 Organic Green Apple (Sliced)
- 1 Organic Red Apple (Sliced)
- 1 Organic Lime (Sliced)
- Two or three Cherries for garnish
- a teaspoon of shaved ginger (optional)
The recipe makes two 6 oz. mocktails.
How you do it!
- The Lime layer (bottom layer) In a blender, or with a small hand mixer and a large 32+ oz. container, mix 1/2 of the Ginger Ale or Sparkling Water (3 oz), and 1 oz. of the Apple Juice, and quickly mix for about a minute until the liquid is fully combined.
- Cut the lime in half and squeeze 1/2 of the fresh lime juices into the mixture. Add all of the Ginger, (1 teaspoon) and blend for about 2-3 minutes or until all ginger is blended into the liquid. You may see some pulp.
- Then, once the liquid is blended, add 1 cup of ice, enough to chill the liquid, and bring it to a frothy freeze. Pour it into two (2) martini glasses, about half-way up, dividing the mixture equally in each glass. Use a spoon to scrape the blender walls if it sticks, so you get every ounce of the tart goodness. Place the two glasses in the freezer while you create the top layer.
- For the Apple layer (top layer) first rinse the blender (or container) and get ready for the second (top) layer of delicious Apple sweetness.
- Add the remaining (3 oz.) Ginger Ale (or Water), into the blender. Cut each of the apples into two halfs. Peel and core only 1/2 of each Red and Green Apple and add into the blender. Blend until smooth. The remaining halves will be used to garnish, as well as the lime.
- Add 2 oz. of Apple Juice and ALL of the Cherry Juice (1 oz.) and blend for 1 minute. Add 1 cup of ice and blend until smooth. Add more ice for a frozen frothy topping, or less ice for a very chilled topping.
- Slowly pour the chilled or frozen apple-cherry mixture into the martini glasses, not to disturb the Lime (bottom) layer, making a dual layered affect!
- Thinly slice and use the remaining apples and limes as a garnish. Add a few cherries on top, grab a seat and relax!
- If you want to really give it a kick, add mint leaves to the top as a garnish. If you want to splurge, before you start, wet the rim of each glass with ginger ale dip the rim into some crushed cane sugar or coconut sugar. The recipe makes two sweet and sour refreshers!
