It is no secret that a very famous coffee house serves a tart Hibuscus Tea that rivals the best. So, I asked a local chef how I could minic this flavor. He told me the secret is using Organic dried Hibuscus flowers. So, grab some at your local grocer or garden center ( about 18 oz.) and brew it in Spring Water. We add a little special something to our recipe that enhances the flavor — fresh Rasberries and local Honey give it enough sweetness, that you may think you are drinking processed sugar. However, none of our recipes call for white table sugar, and never will!
Serves two 16 oz. Chilled Herbal Tea
This is how you do it!
Brew about 30 ounces of hot spring water and 1/2 cup of organic dried Hibuscus flowers, 5-10 raspberries, 2 tablespoons of local Honey (or sugar substitute) until bubbly hot. Let the tea steep and cool completely. Cover the top of two large 16 ounce glasses with a small beverage sifter, and pur over the glasses filled with ice. Enjoy this refreshing tart tea anytime. Garnish with raspberries and dried Hibuscus flowers.
